Applications are open for PhD students to join the Doctoral Training Partnership led by the School of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh. Three cohorts of PhD students will be trained annually between 2024 and 2026. The closing date for the 2025 intake is 5 January 2025.
There are 90+ supervisor-led projects available as well as a student-led project route. For more details on both options, visit the E5 DTP Projects page with guidance to choose a project and advice on contacting the supervisory team to discuss the project and your suitability.
Two of the supervisor-led projects are associated with the Jameel Observatory and we welcome interested students to contact the supervisors indicated as soon as possible (details on the web pages below):
- Balancing livestock feed improvement with rangeland health in the drylands of East Africa – Contact Dr. Alan Duncan
- Using Earth Observation to examine the climate and environment impacts on access to essential services in East Africa – Contact Dr. Gary Watmough
